Lunch on the patio on a perfect summer day. Food was ok, chardonnay was served in the tiniest stemless red wine glasses - maybe four oz serving for $9 - a little pricey. Complimentary hummus and crackers served as an appy - crackers were a little stale and very crunchy!! Meatloaf was served in a soup bowl filled with mashed potatoes. The meat had fatty chunks and the portion was on the small side, but ok. Pizza was cut into four pieces served on a cutting board. Limited toppings and a little on the dry side - could have used more sauce. The day was a little windy and the arugula on top of the pizza flew away. The atmosphere was great! We frequent Niagara Falls and have been to almost every restaurant that has been recommended to us. Most were pretty good (Antica Pizzeria was my favourite) - but I'm still thinking about the steak i had last night! The Beef Baron surpassed my expectations. The last time was great so we went back again - this time was phenomenal! It was all great - but like I said, my mouth is still watering. We stayed for the lounge after as well, which is also nice. It's a great idea - dinner first then walk into the lounge after for dancing and drinks without having to drive around and look for parking again. The only reason I left a 5 star review was to the service we received. My steak was not cooked properly plus even they cooked it more from raw, the steak was bland, no flavor at all. I ended up loosing my appetite. The one thing that impressed me was our waitress. She tried her best and the manager told her that our bill was covered including our drinks. Went here for lunch but will not be back. I must say the food here is very good. Unfortunately the Service Manager or Waiter is very pushy and will invite himself into your conversations. He invited himself to sample our food (which we declined), he kept trying to hit on us, and stood over us until we ordered. In addition, there were 4 gentlemen just standing around the bar looking around the whole time. It was annoying. Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin.
